—  About mercury media

Mercury Media is a progressive communications firm in Louisiana and washington, d.c.

Our values are front and center in our work. We work with clients who share our founding principles — inclusion, accountability, transparency, and justice. We give back to the community that shaped us, continually contributing a portion of our profits to causes and candidates who work to impact lawmaking in Louisiana. Polarization is growing and voter apathy is at an all-time high. We’ve borrowed a phrase from the finance industry to describe our strategy of disrupting this cycle: impact investing. When you choose to do business with our firm, your investment in your own cause helps grow our investment in the community.

—  About our principal

dylan Waguespack, principal at Mercury Media, helps candidates, nonprofits, and businesses hone their message and deliver it to the hands of decision-makers, voters, and the media.

In the fall of 2018, Waguespack was the Creative Director for the Unanimous Jury Coalition and the Yes on Amendment 2 campaign to require unanimous juries for felony convictions, which passed with 64 percent of the vote. He led the digital components of the 2017 Louisiana Justice Reinvestment effort to successfully pass ten landmark criminal justice reform bills — together, the most progressive package of criminal justice reforms passed by a state legislature in modern US history. He has helped coordinate inaugurations on the city and state level. In 2017, he secured a 32 point margin win as digital consultant for the Constitutional Amendment 1 campaign, a statewide ballot measure which clarified how property taxes were assessed on construction works in progress. In 2015, Waguespack led the advocacy campaign that stopped the open burn of 16 million pounds of M6 propellent at Camp Minden. Formerly a registered lobbyist in Louisiana, he moved favorable bills from the drafting process all the way to the Governor’s desk for his clients and prevented dozens of unfavorable bills from passing. In addition to his state work, his work history includes professionally lobbying members of the US House of Representatives and Senate, where he worked year-round to advance federal policy goals for his clients. Get in touch to find out what his team can do for you.
